How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Hello from the UP!

This update is being brought to you from Iron Mountain, Michigan! We have been on about a 3 week jaunt this time taking us from Rock Island, IL to a few places in Wisconsin, and now we are here. We head back to our hometown this Thursday and Friday. It is about a 9 hour drive, so we will split it into two days, stopping to see some family on the way.

We are excited about getting home for the beginning of the holidays! We absolutely love Thanksgiving. It is such a sweet time of year, and a great time spent with family and our church family. We will be home for about a week, and head out again and be back just in time for Christmas! We are planning to make this year as big as we can, seeing as it will be our last one for a few years. Ya know, it's amazing that God has called us to Alaska, and we are so grateful to be used of God... but it doesn't come with it's hardships. It's a quite emotional when you get to thinking about not having the family times during the holidays and such. But we know without a doubt that God will take care of, and encourage us in the hard times. So we are going to enjoy this year to it's fullest! :)

We have met some of the sweetest people on deputation... it's so awesome to see how God has put people in our path to encourage us, and to be a blessing to us! We were recently having some issues with the truck, so when we got to our next meeting, Phil asked the Pastor if he knew any good diesel mechanics... guess what? they had one in their church!!! He talked to Phil, and they worked on the truck on Sunday afternoon, it has been working great ever since! Things like that (and many others), are how God proves to us that we are in His will and doing exactly what He wants us to do.

Can you pray with us for these things?

~ Pray that God will allow our schedule for next year to fill up... Pray for Phil as he makes "cold calls" to churches, that God will give him favor and clear speech when calling. Do you know a church looking for a missionary to come? Would you like us to send information to your Pastor? Feel free to email us at hulettstoalaska@yahoo.com if you would like us to!

~ Pray for wisdom as we plan our departure in June of this year, pray for the funds to ship our container, and for funds for our plane tickets.

~ Pray for our family to stay strong spiritually and physically as we travel. We are coming into the flu/cold season, pray for health for our family.

~ Pray for the people of Alaska, pray that God would send more laborers to this field. There are so many unreached people in the bush of Alaska. We are so anxious to get there, and get started being a light to them!

We hope this update finds you all well. Thank you for your prayers and support of our ministry!

I'll leave you with a few recent pictures :)

A much needed update...

Ugh! Why is it so hard to update our blog?! I sincerely apologize it has taken us this long to update our website. We've often thought about having a Facebook page because it would be easier to make "update comments" but not everyone has Facebook... so I just need to make this more of a priority! Please forgive me! Okay, so now for the update!

The best news? We are now a family of five! God has blessed our family with another son. Elliott James was born via C-section on 10-16, weighing 10lbs 14.7oz, and was 21 inches long. He is an awesome baby... so glad God gave us a calm baby for deputation! Baker and Katie Rae are so excited about their new little brother! Baker is protective, and Katie Rae smothers him in kisses! I'm doing good, taking healing one day at a time. We start traveling again this Saturday. We are all anxious to get back on the road presenting the need in Alaska! We have been staying with my parents (our sending Pastor) to allow for easier adjustments and healing. We are so thankful for their part in this, and being such a blessing opening their home to us!

We are so excited to tell you that we are at almost 30% of our financial support! The Lord is blessing tremendously! Can you pray with us that God will lead us to the right churches/meetings for next year?

Our prayer support... did you see the number?!?!?! We are at 318 days covered for the days of commitments to pray! How cool is that? We were counting them up this last Sunday, and it brought tears to my eyes realizing just how close we were to our goal! It's amazing to see how people have stepped up and made the sincere commitment to be such a huge part of our ministry!

Only 7 1/2 months!!! It is incredible how time has flown by... We move in June of next year! Ya know, it's so neat to see all of our missionary friends that are leaving for the field... it's encouraging, and so exciting to know it's almost our turn!

A big decision was made in the last month, Phil had been praying about where we would serve in Alaska, and who we could help, and learn from. We kept waiting and praying for God to give us the peace and guidance we needed. Phil took a trip with our Pastor this past July and had an awesome time doing Bible clubs, and Bible studies. They went to Bethel, Dillingham, and Good News Bay. (I think I missed one :( ) Anyway, they had an awesome time, and God really gave Phil peace about where we will be. Phil really feels the Lord calling us to help Bro. Perry Abrams in Dillingham, Alaska. There are about 15 villages around Dillingham that we can minister in, and the goal in the near future would be to have Bible studies in these villages. Then, in the winter when travel is not able... we will be helping Bro Abrams at Community Baptist Church in Dillingham. It's so neat to have peace and direction!! :)

Please continue to pray for us on the road... that we would stay faithful to the Lord, that God would bless our efforts, that His hand of protection be upon us, that God would give us favor with Pastors and churches... We so desperately want to be a blessing and encouragement to all who God puts in our paths!

Here are some pictures to enjoy!!!

Speechless...

Have you ever just completely stopped and looked at where your life is... and saw God in it all? That's exactly how we feel. We travel a lot, so we have a lot of time to talk, and we often just speak of how God has literally picked us up so many times, and carried us through. We have no idea where we would be had God not changed our lives, changed our desires, and given us a purpose... to serve Him. We are so thankful for Salvation. Where would you be had God not saved you? It's kind of scary to "play" through in your mind where you would be today had you not trusted in Jesus. We know that where we would be, is far from where we are. We are so thankful that God has chosen to use us, to send us to Alaska. We are so anxious to get there, and speak of what great things God has done! But until then, we are enjoying every moment possible of deputation! There are for sure a lot of "interesting" parts of deputation :) But we are striving to be a blessing to everyone that we possibly can.

We have gotten the opportunity to fellowship with another missionary family that was in our area, that we are great friends with... It's so awesome to share deputation stories of how God provided, or how we were so encouraged by a certain church.... It was such a blessing to spend time with them, and encourage each other! So as we look back on the last few months, we really are just speechless... In awe.... of our God. And we know that a lot of it is in part to your prayers. Thank you for praying, thank you for supporting us both financially and prayerfully, thank you for your encouragement.

The Future: Hopefully, I (Emily) will get better at some point of updating our blog! I sincerely do apologize for not making it more of a priority. I really will try!!! The next few months, we are in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Arkansas. (I'm sure I'm missing a state... lol) Please pray for safe travels...

Our Family: I can't believe I neglected to post our announcement to the blog!!! God is expanding our family! Baby #3 is due in October! We are being surprised with the gender too! How fun? Excited doesn't even seem to express how we feel about this baby! We are so incredibly thankful that God chose to bless our family once again. I'm feeling the baby move like crazy... it brings a whole new meaning to the verse... "fearfully and wonderfully made". Baker and Katie Rae are so excited about having a new sibling too! Baker celebrated his 4th birthday this past month, and Phil and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary! I'm so thankful for my husband and the leader of our home that he is. We are so in love, and love being in the ministry together!

Here are some pictures to enjoy! Please feel free to comment! (Let me know someone reads this!! :))

We got to visit Hulett, Wyoming! So neat and kinda weird to see our last name everywhere! :)

We were in Council Bluffs, IA and everyone said, You have to go to the Omaha Zoo! So we did... and the kids absolutely loved it! Now everywhere we go, they think we are going to a zoo... haha!

Had to share this picture of Katie Rae and the Baby Gorilla...

We pray each of you are doing well!

Update from Nebraska

Hello all!

Thank you so much for checking in with us on our blog... We have discovered on deputation that having internet is kinda few and far between! So we apologize for the late update!

Deputation has been great so far! We have been to Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and we are now in Nebraska. In a few weeks, we start the trek back to the Midwest. We are anxious to see our home church and our families! God has been so gracious to us... he's providing like we never imagined!

As many of you know, our major goal on deputation is our prayer support... we have a goal of having one Christian, Pastor or Church praying for us each day of the year. The response has been amazing! We now have 105 days covered! Would you like to be involved? Feel free to email us or comment!

Here are a few pictures of what's been going on....

The Kids on Easter Sunday in Roy, Utah

We had an amazing time of fellowship with the Schrepfers in Eureka, Montana

We are really enjoying being able to see some sights along the way! This was Independence Rock, not far from Casper, Wyoming

Thank you for your continued support both financially and prayerfully! God has used many of you to be such a blessing to us. We are anxious to see how God is going to work on deputation!

We love you all in the Lord!

We are having a great time at Fairview Baptist Church in Great Falls, Montana! We are here for their Missions Conference and have several opportunities to serve this week!

We are doing well, and God is taking such good care of us! The truck and the trailer are traveling well too! Thank you for praying for us! Our computer screen broke so all updates have to be from our phone until we are able to get it fixed... So sorry if something comes out looking weird!

Here is a picture from the services tonight!

Hello from Iowa!

We are traveled to Iowa this past Tuesday, and had a great service with Fellowship Baptist Church in Marshalltown, IA tonight. We truly enjoy sharing our burden and our ministry with people. The people were very encouraging and sweet! We also had the church, and two individuals commit to praying for us! We were so excited! God is blessing our ministry, and us as we strive to serve Him.

We left home on Tuesday the 7th of January, and don't plan to be back to our home church until July... this is a long trek for us! We are in Iowa now, we travel to South Dakota for Sunday, then on to Wyoming, and spending two months straight in Montana! The Lord has provided the meetings, so we are confident He will keep us safe and provide for us during the super cold snowy days! :)

We will update here as often as possible! We are so thankful for everyones prayers, and for the encouragement that you are to us!

18 Months till we arrive in Alaska!
